A Passion Introduced

I was a reluctant participant in the beginning. It was no accident that I started to get infected with the photography bug. Hubby has been giving me the virus ever since he got his Sony DSC-H5. I was immuned to that virus. I was content with the BenQ C740 point and shoot camera. Even that always stay put in its casing and only once a while would feel my touch.

Then hubby got himself the Canon EOS400D. Everything got serious after that. Hubby would always grab the free time available to go out for his photography outing. I would just tag along. The Sony stayed behind. I am not ready. I am a bit jittery. I am afraid that I would not be able to get good photos. Out of that fear, I have managed to evade the inevitable...at that time.

Then the Canon EOS40D made its debut in the market. Hubby wanted to trade-in his 400D at first. On our way home to get the camera, he told me that as the trade-in value is very low he was thinking of keeping the 400D instead for me to use. I was speechless. I just nodded in agreement. I was afraid the camera would be a white elephant. An expensive white elephant.

As expected I let the 400D lay low. Only once in a while I will know its existence whenever my gaze fell on its casing. Hubby on the other hand persistently encouraging me. He got me to go along with him on his outing. He got me to feel the joy of photography especially when we are in a group. He injected a more powerful virus that in time I could do nothing but succumbed to the disease. This disease is more contagious when you are around people who have them. Our group of friends have them. I am but doomed. If you can't beat them, join them.

I regret one thing tho. I regret the time that I have wasted away. Pushing that aside, I am now enjoying photography with zest. I know that I would have to go through numerous trials and errors. So be it. That's how we learn.

Now the white elephant is roaming free...
